The after school care center "Abenteuerland" (Land of adventures) is an institution of the DRK Kreisverband Halle-Saalkreis-Mansfelder Land e.V.
The school that is neighboring and cooperating with this care center is the "Neumarktschule". This school is situated in the Mühlwegviertel, a quarter in the old town part of Halle (Saale).
The surroundings of this traditional school host diverse multicultural and scientific institutions, which form the character of that quarter of Halle.
The center of Halle is a few walking minutes away and the next Tram stop is locates within 150 m. The position of the care center is very central and integrated in the transport system of Halle.
The children who attend our care center are coming from all social classes, many of them coming from homes where the parents try their best to enhance conditions which make a healthy and positive development of their children necessary. The interests and talents of the children are being supported by a number of activities run by the parents, in the areas of music, languages and sports. The majority of the parents are very engaged and busy with their work, so that our care center plays a big part in supporting the families.
Single children, children with siblings, children with single parents and children with different cultural backgrounds visit our care center.
Children with different cultural backgrounds are integrated in everyday life at the care center.
Their individual and cultural backgrounds are being considered and the process of intercultural integration is a priority. In this way possible discrimination is ceased.
The care center "Abenteuerland" owns two locations with an overall capacity of 320 children.
One locality, the care center for children from the first and second grade is located on the premises of the primary school "Neumarktschule". The care center for the children of the third and fourth grade is located right across the street and is connected through a pedestrian crossing.
