I got such a lovely greeting from the kids as I returned back to work after over a week away in Dresden. They all ran at me and saying things like "you are never allowed to leave again" or "it was so boring without you" which really made me realise how much I love working with children and also how I have had a positive affect on them this year. I was also asked later on in the week to be a translator for a Syrian family who couldn't speak much German and could speak more English and wanted to enrol their children in the Hort. This also made me realise how my German has improved since the start as there is no way I would have had the confidence to do that in September. One evening we went to an Ice-hockey game for the local team which was very exciting as I've never watched Ice-Hockey before... and also great as we had free tickets from Rena's boss. My original plan was to spend Easter in Halle, however, I'd seen how disappointed my mum was when I told this to her so I planned a surprise trip home. It was definitly the right decision as it had been a while since I had seen my family and was really nice just to have a small holiday. In my project we learnt spring vocabulary and made Easter cards. Again I only had two project days as I was ill on one Thursday and also I flew home for Easter.
